Overview

A colorful and memorable adventure

From the Taj Mahal to rural villages, from gemstones to the Ganges River, you’ll experience a kaleidoscope of Indian arts, architecture, and daily life. See the regal mausoleums of Agra, wander the bustling bazaars of Delhi, and embark on safaris in search of tigers and leopards in Panna National Park.

The second leg of our journey takes us to the UNESCO-listed Khajuraho Group of Monuments, with its spectacularly carved temples. Highlights of this vivid expedition include a boat ride along the Ganges to view the elaborate rituals and rites in Varanasi, Hinduism’s holiest (and India’s oldest) city.

Ed's background is in comparative literature and medieval literature, and he teaches on the arts and literatures of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Ed’s lectures were superb in their content and brought hundreds of years of history into an easily followed progression. They were presented with wit, enthusiasm, and a scholar’s ability to make it simple and enjoyable.
